Angel Baseball Program of Rockwall

The Kiwanis Sponsored Angel Baseball Program is absolutely FREE for all children with special needs. The program is for special needs children ages 4 to 15, regardless of disabilities, and the Adult team for those aged 16 and up with mental challenges.

HISTORY:    Started in 1999 and co-sponsored by the Rockwall Parks and Recreation Department, the games have no strikes, no outs and we do not keep score, every “hit” is a home run!!!!! We accept all disabilities, no matter how severe.

 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

We play for 9 weeks each Spring and Fall at the City owned Tuttle Field on Airport Blvd. (at the intersection of industrial blvd).  All games run for one hour.

STRUCTURE:

The parents of the player’s actually run the games, providing support, coaching and “officiating”.   Team Moms have been designated to assist in this area. The Angels are for special needs children ages 4 to 15.  Because of the age difference between the players, 3 teams play simultaneously on different fields.

EQUIPMENT & AWARDS:          

Each player is furnished a complete little league style baseball uniform at no cost to the parent.  At the last game they receive a team picture, a picture of the individual player at bat plus a trophy.

RULES:         We have no strikes; no outs and the basic rules are adapted to meet the disability of the player.  Players are always encouraged, never forced to conform.

UNIFORMS: Once your player has attended their first game, their jersey will be made up with their name on the back.  Youth team has royal blue jerseys/hats and the adult team has red jerseys/hats
